Scott Cress
Designer and operator. I design the systems behind complex products and operations, then help run them.
I’m a designer who also runs operations. I’ve run Constant Studios since 2006. Along the way I’ve designed maps for Nokia / NAVTEQ, products for Dell / Quest Software, Ingersoll Rand and Strivacity, and led design and operations at Collectiv Technologies. Today I manage the Security Operations Center and logistics at Sectek.
At Dell I designed and launched five cross-platform apps for vWorkspace, carrying a Windows experience to iOS, Android, Mac, Linux, HTML and embedded.
At Ingersoll Rand I ran usability studies and customer surveys, redesigned the Nexia Diagnostics and ComfortSite information architecture, and produced more than 54 features for thermostat and mobile.
At Collectiv I stepped into the COO role for a team across Lagos, India, Virginia and Tennessee.
At Sectek I run daily SOC operations across multiple client sites and drive our pursuit of ISO 27001.
The thread is the same everywhere: understand the people doing the work, find the real constraint, and design something they can run.
